DEAL Wiley

The DEAL project with Wiley has also resulted in a new contract between the DEAL consortium and Wiley. The new DEAL Wiley agreement (2024-2028) enables authors of the participating institutions to publish in approximately 1.900 Wiley journals, as well as reading access to almost the entire portfolio.

For publishing in Gold Open Access journals, corresponding authors receive a 20% discount on the list prices of publication charges (APCs) in Wiley journals.

When publishing in subscription-based journals, a publish-and-read fee (PAR fee) of 2.200,00 to 3.150,00 EUR is charged (the journals have been divided into a tiering system - the AGU journals are mainly in Tier 2 with a PAR fee of EUR 2,700.00) , which is currently borne centrally by the GFZ. 

The GFZ takes part in the DEAL project with Wiley retroactively from 01.01.2024. For GFZ employees, this means that the journal portfolio can be accessed within the GFZ network. Please note: if you are working from home, please choose access via VPN.

In addition, the library will offer two dates for GFZ employees in the near future to inform authors about the publication process and answer open questions. The dates will be announced soon.
