Assistant for Media and Information Services in Libraries
Part of the training is procuring and cataloguing media of all kind (e.g. books, journals, videos, CDs etc.) as well as reworking and conveying information or data. The daily use of online services, especially the internet, is part of that training, too.
The 3 year training also implies knowledge in information and communication systems, new media as well as database research and electronic delivery systems. Assistants for media and information services support librarians with the care of library holdings. They are contact persons for library users with different interests and needs.
